A Little Background..

Robyn has owned Physio NZ with her husband Marcus since 2011 and has extended her passion for helping people achieve their goals through to all the staff here at Physio NZ. Having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006, she has gained experience in a wide variety of hospital and community settings working in South Wales for two years. On reaching Christchurch, Robyn worked in community mental health supporting people into exercise. Through this role she recognised the correlation between pain and poor mental health and how stress especially can delay recovery from aches and pains.

Robyn has one main focus, to support her staff to support you! She has developed and mentored the Physio NZ staff to focus on our patient goals and develop realistic treatment plans to help achieve these. Robyn wants to get as many patients inspired and supported to safely return to activity and to do the things they love.

Outside of work Robyn is a mum of busy boys, loves trail running, beach walking, tap dancing, bouldering and video calling friends and family from around the globe!

A Little Background..

My job is to make it as easy as possible for you to not only feel better, but also to get back to normal as quickly as possible – whether that be back to work, to sport, or getting back to looking after your family.I have been a physio now for 19 years, and helped nearly 10,000 people through NZ and Australia in that time.

I have trained with some of the best, including under Craig Phillips, the guy that created DMA Pilates, and David Butler and Peter O’Sullivan, both of whom have made amazing contributions to physiotherapy.Outside of work, I’m a proud Dad and Husband, and have a reputation for being completely useless at sport.

A Little Background..

In the 30 years of working as a physiotherapist Anne has worked for the NHS (UK) and in Private hospitals and also in the community in a wide range of clinical areas. This has involved working as a Senior Clinician in orthopaedics, Private Practice owner and also as a Hospital Manager.

Anne moved to NZ in 2007 with her family and has focused on Private Practice and her clinical work since, expanding her skill base further with the completion of the Hand Therapy Training and Registration. Over the years as a physiotherapist Anne has developed a very wide range of clinical skills and has been working in older persons health supporting residents in rest home level care.  

More recently, the Physio NZ team are utilising Anne's Hand Therapy Skills and Anne provides joint assessments (often via zoom) to support Physio NZ clients who have upper limb injuries. This is a fantastic resource for our clients and team and we're helping more people reach their goals faster with this additional service. 

Outside of work Anne enjoys gardening, spending time with her family and dog, walking, cycling, skiing and travelling. She also likes creative pursuits such as painting, sewing, cooking and playing the guitar.

At current, Anne is community based providing services in our aged care facilities and unavailable in our clinic.

A Little Background..

Manasi has gained extensive experience working in India, the UK, and New Zealand. She has worked in various roles, including providing rehabilitation services for the New Zealand Defence Force and working as part of the medical team at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022, where she specialized in injury management and rehabilitation for athletes.

Manasi’s expertise spans musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and functional rehabilitation and Pilates. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a passion for client-centered care, building rapport with ease, and contributing to collaborative, multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.

Outside work, Manasi enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and discovering new places alongside her husband.

Meet Rob Edwards

A Little Background..

Having completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at Macquarie University in Sydney, Rob has gained Private Practice experience in Australia, the UK and New Zealand. Rob worked with a variety of sports teams and sporting events including rugby, swimming, cycling and running. He now enjoys the challenge of helping a wide variety of individuals all having their own unique goals to work towards. 

Outside of work Rob enjoys spending time with his family. He is a keen tennis player being the local club champ but also enjoys most outdoor activities like trail running, skiing and mountain biking.

Sophie grew up in Christchurch and after completing her studies at the University of Otago she returned to Christchurch to start her physiotherapy career. 

Since a young age, she has been passionate about sports and staying active. Sophie has previously represented New Zealand in triathlon and these days loves to run, ski and enjoy the outdoors. 

Sophie is passionate about helping people get back to what they love doing and gets joy out of seeing her clients achieve their goals.

A Little Background..

Emma grew up in Invercargill, and was involved in numerous school and representative teams in Athletics, netball, basketball and volleyball. She moved up to Dunedin, where she completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Otago. 

Emma enjoys all Canterbury has to offer - running through the port hills, hiking in Arthurs Pass and skiing in the winter.

Alex is a local boy, growing up in the hills of Heathcote valley. Following undergraduate study in Dunedin he returned home to get back involved in his community.  

A previous high level rower, he has a background in sports science and is passionate about bringing elite-level management into everyday lives, working together with his clients to achieve their goals and get back to living their lives to the fullest. 

Outside of work, Alex enjoys staying active, especially through endurance sports, the outdoors, or the gym.
