- Owner & Senior Physio

Passionate About..

  • Cancer Rehabilitation
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Sports and work related injuries

A Little Background..

Robyn has owned Physio NZ with her husband Marcus since 2011 and has extended her passion for helping people achieve their goals through to all the staff here at Physio NZ. Having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006, she has gained experience in a wide variety of hospital and community settings working in South Wales for two years. On reaching Christchurch, Robyn worked in community mental health supporting people into exercise. Through this role she recognised the correlation between pain and poor mental health and how stress especially can delay recovery from aches and pains.

Having trained in Oncology rehabilitation and vocational training, this is a particular interest. Robyn wants to support as many people diagnosed with cancer to begin rehabilitation from the time of diagnosis to reduce side effects of treatment and reduce risk of cancer re-occurrence.

Robyn has one main focus, to support her staff to support you! She has developed and mentored the Physio NZ staff to focus on our patient goals and develop realistic treatment plans to help achieve these. Robyn wants to get as many patients inspired and supported to safely return to activity and to do the things they love.

Outside of work Robyn is a mum of busy boys, loves walking, pilates and skyping friends and family from around the globe!

Qualifications..

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) Physiotherapy- Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, 2006
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation – 2013
